Persuaders

After watching "The Persuaders" I was surprised at the extreme lengths advertisers are willing to reach to secure their loyalty in their costumers while also being sure to grasp their full attention in a positive way. This video really made me aware of the amount of time and hard work which marketers put into every single type of advertising, from product labels to service.

New York is cluttered with advertisements, which are all equally trying to compete against each other. The problem with this effect is that because there is so much going on in one place it makes the consumers lose interest in strength of all the advertisements. Not only does this just happen in big cities, like New York, but it is happening everywhere from T.V. to magazines. With this problem facing the advertising world, marketers have to become even more creative with the way which they are advertising.

When watching the video it did not come as a surprise that advertisers were studying cults to learn how to win over loyalty of their costumers. Something that did bother me was that consumers follow what other  people say about different brands. Many times things that people say can be misleading and follow costumers to not follow through with a purchase of a particular brand. So something that advertisers really need to pay attention to is how they perceive their product out to the buyer. This is something that can make or break a brand.

Brand Tags

One brand that I really enjoy a lot is nike, i have many nike shirts which I work out in, and nike shoes. When I hear this brand some of the things that come to my mind is; comfort, loyalty, power, afordable, and strength. Throughout my life time Nike has always been there for me. I believe it was one of the first shoe brands i bought when first playing basketball, running track, and playing volleyball. Nike is a brand which I can feel comfortable about when I buy it because there brand has offered me so much over the past years. Nike is a brand which sponsors many athletic teams and they have many celebrities which promote the brand which also shows that more people like and feel comfortable wearing this brand. When I visited brandtags.com I found that many people feel the same way about nike as I do. Most of the words were used to describe athletics and athletes. Some of the words that I didnt agree with that brandtags had was things like; evil, crap, child labor, and others. I feel like nike is not like that at all and i have full trust and loyalty in this brand.
